Mentoring & Coaching

As a mentor, I can help you get clearer on what you want and help you achieve it. Together we focus on work issues in the context of your wider life and aspirations.

What I offer is a unique, rounded service, based on more than 25 years of helping people on a one-to-one basis.

I draw on experience as a leader in both the corporate and charity and voluntary sector, bringing relevant first-hand knowledge of workplace challenges and pressures. But more than that, I have a varied helping background as a coach, mentor, Master NLP practitioner and Relate trained counsellor and as head of a counselling charity. This means that I bring a lot of different skills to your situation.

If this could be what you’re looking for, I’m someone on your side, a cheerleader who will listen, feedback what I’m hearing and help you look at options and take action. I’ll help you stay on track or reframe, as appropriate. I’ll challenge you in a supportive way and help you go further that you might have thought possible.

I can help with

Work

  • Leadership skills, with a particular focus on implementing change and restructure

  • Strategy, including vision, people and finance

  • Working with board / trustees

  • Partnership building

  • Day-to-day management and how to bring out the best in your team

  • Problem solving

  • Priority setting – moving from reactive to proactive

  • Career development

Plus, so much more that has a direct impact on your work:

  • Work life balance

  • Overcoming overwhelm

  • Developing resilience

  • Building confidence

  • Saying no

  • Dealing with guilt

  • And more besides …

What’s involved?

What you choose to focus on is up to you.

Some use it as a form of ongoing development, where there may not be a structure or resource in place at work for a knowledgeable sounding board. Others use it for a specific goal as touched on above.

Whatever the issue, we can have a no obligation phone / skype consultation to discuss your needs.

Sessions can be face-to-face, on the phone or skype. How often and when depends on what you want. The normal minimum commitment is 4 – 6 sessions of up to 1.5 hours.

To offer wide access, I operate a differential fee scale for those working in the not-for-profit sector.

I love this plaster cast of my hands (I'm holding test tubes!) which I did as part of an art project for women many years ago and still has pride of place in my office

I specialise in helping
